Popular hire cars at Gran Canaria Airport
The cars in the popular selection
The cars on this page are a popular selection, one for each class, all offered at Gran Canaria Airport across the winter from October 2026 to February 2027. The airport listings hold more models than these, and the search for your dates at the airport shows the full choice. Each car's listing gives its price, deposit, insurance cover, card rule and mileage.
Which car classes can I hire at the airport?

Automatic or manual?
Both, at the airport. Most cars in the listings are manual, and automatic versions are offered on the Volkswagen Polo and T-Cross, Nissan Qashqai, Audi A1 and A3, Škoda Fabia, Citroën C4, Peugeot 2008, MG HS, Mercedes C-Class, Volkswagen Caravelle and Peugeot Traveller. Each car in the search shows its gearbox beside its seat count.
Automatics are offered only on airport returns. The cars that serve the resort towns, and the ones that allow a one-way drop-off in a resort town, are all manual. If you need an automatic, collect and return at the airport.

What if there are more than five of us?
Seven-seat cars and eight and nine-seat vans are both in the airport listings. The seven-seat choices include the Dacia Jogger, Peugeot 5008 and Opel Zafira. For eight or nine, the Volkswagen Caravelle, Peugeot Traveller and Renault Trafic, with automatic versions of the Caravelle and the Traveller.
Every car needs a category B licence, the ordinary car licence, including the nine-seat vans, and the agent checks the licence and the driver's age at the car pick-up in arrivals at the airport. Check the driver ages on a van before you book: the Peugeot Traveller and Opel Zafira listings ask for drivers aged 25 to 65 with two years' experience, a narrower band than most cars.
Is there a convertible?
The Fiat 500C, the soft-top version of the 500, is offered at the airport across the winter. It is a manual, and it is the one convertible in the popular selection.
Is there a mileage limit on the cars?
On some cars. Some cars have no limit, and others carry a limit of 175 or 200 km a day, with a charge for each kilometre beyond it. For scale, from the airport, Puerto de Mogán and back is 108.5 km and Roque Nublo and back is 102.6 km. The limit is stated on each car's page.
Can I add a second driver or a child seat?
On most cars, as paid extras chosen at booking: a second driver, a child seat, a booster seat, and on some cars an infant seat. Prices differ between suppliers. Spanish law requires a child restraint for any child 135 cm tall or shorter, in a rear seat.

Car hire questions
Can I book an exact model?
No. Every listing is a model name followed by "or similar", so the exact model is not guaranteed.
Is there a car with no deposit?
Some cars take no deposit, and the search can be filtered to show only those. The card rules differ car by car.
Are the prices on this page what I will pay?
No. They are the lowest prices the last sync found for the default dates. The search prices your own dates, and that is the price you pay.
