The full hire termsA one-way car hire from Gran Canaria Airport is collected in arrivals and left in another town at the end of the hire, instead of being driven back to the airport.
Five places accept a car from the airport: San Bartolomé de Tirajana, which is the municipality that takes in Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, then Meloneras, Bahía Feliz, Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria and Las Palmas. Fewer cars allow a one-way than a return to the airport, and the search for Gran Canaria Airport shows how many do for your dates.
The car is met in arrivals as on any airport hire, and the documents, card and fuel rules at pick-up are the same. Each resort drop-off is listed as City delivery, which means the car is handed back at an address you give inside that town.
Choose the drop-off town in the search form's Drop off tab before you search. The price and the cars you see are then the ones that allow that drop-off, and the handover address is given in the booking. Confirm a hotel or apartment address with the booking's support before you pay.
There is no separate one-way charge on these cars. Whatever the supplier charges for leaving the car elsewhere is already inside the car's price.
Whether that price is higher than a return to the airport depends on the dates. Search your own dates and compare the car with and without a drop-off town set; the difference is the cost of the one-way.

The cars that take a one-way from the airport are small and compact hatchbacks, such as the Renault Twingo, Volkswagen Up, Renault Clio, Volkswagen Polo, Citroën C3, Renault Mégane and Volkswagen Golf, and every one of them is a manual. If you need an automatic, book a return to the airport instead: automatics are only offered on airport returns.
These cars have their own rules. They need no deposit and no credit card, and they have no mileage limit, but none offers free cancellation. Each car's page confirms all four before you pay.

Search cars for your datesYes, as a drop-off only. Las Palmas has no cars of its own to collect, but cars from the airport can be left there, at an address you give in the city; the drive from the airport to Las Palmas is 25.6 km and 27 minutes north on the GC-1.
Yes, from San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Meloneras, Bahía Feliz and Puerto Rico. The car is delivered to an address in the town and returned at the airport. It is the same small group of manual cars, and Puerto Rico can have none to offer in a peak week such as Christmas.
Las Palmas is the exception: no car starts there, so a trip that begins in the city starts at the airport, a quicker run than the other way, at 25 minutes from Las Palmas.
Bahía Feliz is the nearest at 20 minutes. The drive to Playa del Inglés and the run to Las Palmas are both 27 minutes, in opposite directions, and Maspalomas and Meloneras 30 and 31. Puerto Rico is the furthest: the drive from Gran Canaria Airport to Puerto Rico takes 40 minutes on the GC-1, leaving it at exit 62 for the GC-500.
